A trusted provider of high-quality pipe fabrication services for power, refining, chemical, water, and industrial customers. The facility holds ASME U and PP stamps and is committed to safety, quality, and on-time delivery. It is equipped with state-of-the-art welding, NDE, and coating technologies.

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced QC Manager to lead a quality program, ensuring compliance with ASME (e.g., B31.1, B31.3) and client specifications. This individual will oversee welding procedures and inspections, coordinate NDE, manage coating quality, and ensure proper documentation. The QC Manager collaborates with Production, Engineering, and Project Management to meet client requirements and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain ITPs, SDRs, inspection records, and ensure compliance with ASME/ASTM standards and client specifications.
  • Welding Program Management: Oversee WPS/PQR/WPQ continuity, manage welder performance, and maintain essential variable logs.
  • Inspection & Testing: Supervise in-process/final inspections, hydrostatic testing setups, and NDE coordination (RT/UT/PT/MT).
  • Material & Coatings: Manage material traceability, MTR reconciliations, and quality assurance for surface prep, coatings (DFT, holiday testing), and finishing.
  • NCR Management & Auditing: Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Leadership & Training: Mentor QC inspectors, maintain certifications, and foster a quality-focused culture.
  • Client & Audit Interactions: Represent the company during audits/inspections and provide complete data packages for delivery.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of QA/QC experience in welding/fabrication (pipe fabrication experience preferred).
  • Expertise in ASME codes (Sections I, V, VIII, B31.1/3/8, API 1104).
  • AWS CWI certification (current or renewable upon employment).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read isometrics and shop sheet drawings.

Preferred:

  • NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Welding, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Experience with union shops and EPC specifications (refineries, power, chemical).
